Fun at the Local Library ….Much More Than Just Books PDF Print E-mail

The local library is a great place to visit for a good book.  However, the library is also a place to go for weekly fun family events. 
 
Almost every branch of the local library has some kind of story time for kids each week.  Many times a craft or activity accompanies this story time.  In addition, many of the libraries will host a special event like, musical entertainers, theme parties or special educational classes.

Independence Day is coming up and along with the flying of the red, white and blue, soon there will also be spectacular fireworks lighting up the sky.  There are so many great fairs and fireworks displays around town, that no matter where you live you can usually drive just a few miles to enjoy a show.  We have complied one of the best lists around of all the fairs and fireworks displays in Missouri and Illinois.

Drace Park is a wonderful park because it can accommodate almost any age.  There is a Preschool Playground, Toddler Playground and a swing set all right next to each other, which makes it super easy to have a good visual of the whole area without constantly walking around.  The toddler playground is great for kid’s age birth to 4 years and the preschool playground is more suited for 5 years and up.  The swing set has 4 big kids swings and 2 infant swings.  The ground cover on this playground is soft rubber sheets.
